HISTORY

Meander was built in the northeast at the Ted Herman boat yard and was designed to thrive in the finger lakes. She can travel in as little as 2’9” of water. And yet with the swing keel in the down position, she cuts through heavy seas and makes you feel safe and secure.

Meander sailed down the east coast to the Keys, then eased up the Gulf and through the Black Warrior River/Tom Bigbee Waterway system to Pickwick Lake on the Tennessee River. She spent most of her life in fresh water there. Now she’s back home in big water and itching for the wind and a race with the dolphins.

THE VESSEL

Meander is a 32′ Lazy Jack Schooner also designed by renowned naval architect Ted Brewer. This beautiful vessel will take you back to the early twenties when schooners ruled the fishing fleets of the Northeast. This vessel, circa 1974-75, is one of only 42 built and only a handful still exist. Accommodations are sparse, but adequate for two.

You’ll find a private head and shower, air conditioning, hot water, a cooking stove, refrigeration and everything you need for an amazing stay. A bucket list item, Meander remains a favorite in the private collection of the management of Sailboat Bed and Breakfast.
